Panel & service upgrades
A 100-amp camp service fails once you add a well pump, a generator, or a charger. We replace the panel, upsize the service, and pull the permit.
- 100-amp to 200-amp service upgrades
- Panel replacements in older cottages
- Space for a generator, an EV charger, or a mini-split
- Whole-home surge protection at the new panel

Questions
Common questions about home electrical work
How do I know if I need a panel upgrade?
Fuses, a panel older than a few decades, breakers that trip when two appliances overlap, or lights that dip when the well pump starts are the usual signs. Adding a generator, an EV charger, or a mini-split often forces the issue, because a 100-amp service was not sized for those loads. We look at the panel, the service entrance, and what you want to add before we recommend an upgrade.
Do you inspect a home before a sale?
Yes. Owners listing a cottage, buyers in due diligence, and property managers all ask us to walk the panel, the receptacles, and the obvious code gaps before anyone is committed. It is an inspection, not a remodel: we tell you what is unsafe, what is outdated, and what can wait, then you decide what to fix.
Can you work on a lake house or seasonal cottage?
Yes, and a large share of the houses we wire sit on or near Lake Winnipesaukee or Squam Lake. Empty-winter houses have their own problems: well pumps, heat that has to run unattended, and panels that were never upgraded from a 1960s camp. We schedule around the season you are actually here.
Do you rewire older homes?
When the wiring is the problem, yes. Cloth-insulated cable, ungrounded receptacles, and too few circuits show up in Lakes Region houses of a certain age. Sometimes the right job is a targeted branch, not a whole-house rewire. We open enough of the system to know which, and we quote that, not a larger project.
Can you add a circuit for an appliance or a mini-split?
Yes. A microwave, a well pump, a hot tub, and a mini-split each want a circuit that is not shared with the rest of the kitchen or the garage. Sharing is how breakers trip. We run the new circuit from the panel, size the breaker, and leave the rest of the house alone.
